Family Restaurant & Café de Pays in the heart of the Corbières Maritimes, in a small Village irreducible Gauls.

It is in the heart of village life, in the small square near the fountain, that David and his team welcomes you in a simple and friendly atmosphere where villagers, local fishermen, Narbonnais and tourists mingle. Barely crossed the threshold, you will let yourself be carried by this atmosphere, almost "Pagnolesque", where the accents sing, where the sweetness of life is perceptible instantly, where sweet scents already titillate your nostrils. On the terrace or in the dining room reminiscent of the old village bistro, you will enjoy a simple cuisine of regional products. Its slate of tapas is very popular: charcuterie, cheeses, jams, fried fish... For light meals, the vegetarian plate is very nice.
A big hunger?

Let yourself be tempted by a nice steak charolaise or creamed kidneys Madeira sauce and if you come on a Sunday, go for the bourride eel Peyriacoise, a delight. For dessert, you will find among other things, caramelized French toast, excellent! Do not hesitate to make a small stop, if only to enjoy a glass of wine, a small artisanal grape juice produced in the village or for a Friday or Sunday concerts depending on the season.

Our restaurant offers a traditional cuisine with fresh and regional products, with the choice: a la carte or the menu.

In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise and enjoying the Ramsar label (convention established for the protection of the wetlands), this Occitan village, with its medieval quarries and its callades, has kept its typical place and its fountain, where one can cool under the plane trees inhabited by a noisy fauna.

Observe the houses embedded in the arches of the 14th-century church, the carved stone of Saint-Paul Serge in front of an old house, and go up the rue du moulin to discover the old saltstone located between the Roc de Berrière, the Pech du Mour and the "passière", delimiting the pond of Bages-Sigean.

Since ancient times the site of Peyriac de mer has proved to be conducive to the exploitation of salt. This was interrupted in 1967, no longer of sufficient economic interest. A walk of about 2 km allows to discover the saline: take the path boards on stilts to Doul, then return to the village by the "passière", masonry work of the fifteenth century that protected the salt from the rising waters of the pond.

The fortified church of the fourteenth century contains a Madonna and Child polychrome, three paintings by the Carcassonnais painter Gamelin (1739-1803) and a baroque organ classified the nineteenth century. Go around the church to discover the flying buttresses that cross the street of the Church to enter the houses, then a watchtower is visible from the plot. Side Rue de l’Etang, the church disappears completely embedded in the houses. The campanile supports three bells suspended from a wrought iron frame.

A.O.C. Corbières

The Corbières is one of the wildest areas of France with one of the lowest population densities. It is picturesque with wine growing areas alternating with garigue and mountainous countryside. It is located mainly in the Aude département and partly in the Pyrénées-Orientales département. The River Aude borders the Corbières to the west and north. To the south is the River Agly and to the east the the Mediterranean Sea. The name Corbières comes from "cor" a pre-Celtic word meaning "rock" and "berre" from the River Berre which runs through Durban. It has its own distinctive climate and characteristic vegetation known as thermomediterranean vegetation...

Château de l'Ille
Château de l'Ille - Peyriac-de-Mer
A.O.P. CorbièresIts exposure facing the sea allows the vineyard of Château de L'Ille to enjoy a microclimate favorable to the good maturation of the grapes that are harvested at full maturity and, for the most part, manually. Located on the site of an old Roman villa, the Château de l'Ille stretches out to the foothills of Peyriac de Mer, a small fishing village in Languedoc-Roussillon south of Narbonne. On a Mediterranean peninsula, wild and protected, overwelmed by garrigues, ponds and vines, the terroir produces wines of great wealth around a site without equal in the Corbières appellation. The Château de l'Ille winery has a modern winery that allows temperature control: the wines benefit from thermovinification for whites and rosés and, for the red wines, from traditional vinification with carbonic maceration for the noble grape varieties. An underground barrel cellar dug into the rock, houses 120 barrels, 35% of new barrels in French oak and American oak...
