Le Poète Disparu - Floure

Built on the Via Aquitania between Narbonne and Toulouse, this former Roman villa, ten minutes away from Carcassonne, became an abbey in the Middle Ages. Ten centuries later, in the time of Henry IV, a president of the parliament of Toulouse made it his country home. The Chateau de Floure**** subsequently became the residence of the writer Gaston Bonheur.

Conviviality and a feast for the eyes are on offer in the Restaurant du Poète Disparu, where gourmet food can be discovered whilst admiring the magnificent woodwork and statuettes which adorn the room.

Enjoy the pleasures of relaxing in the main lounge with its XVIIth century tapestries and dining at the "Le Poète Disparu" restaurant.

Starting from Carcassonne, it takes hardly 10 minutes to rest in the pastoral softness of the 4 stars Château de Floure where only the undulating vibrations of the centenaries vineyards could disturb the night of a nonchalant quiet summer. By letting the towers of the city drown light, you will be able to taste the gastronomy of Le Poète Disparu restaurant where you will share the flavour of a simple and refined kitchen. Two of our restaurant rooms are equipped to receive people with reduced mobility...
Enjoy a local cuisine at the restaurant “Le Poète Disparu”. If you like surprises, our Chef and his team will be glad to prepare for your table a 6-course tasting menu.

Our Lounge bar, open from 8:00 to 23:30, is warm and cozy in the winter and opens up to a sunny patio for warmer days.

The most beautiful SPA in the Carcassonne area. Enjoy the full spa with its hot tub, hammam, sauna and heated pool. A fitness area is also fully equipped.

The Chateau de Floure used to belong to Gaston Bonheur, a French poet, writer, journalist and socialite who devoted his life to his two passions: writing and making good wine. He spent a lot of time and energy restoring the Château back to its initial history and grandeur. Back in the Roman empire, the “Via Aquitania” passed through the domain and was a stopping place for many travelers. It became a monastery in the Fifth century and expanded into a “bourgeois” residence in the Sixteenth century, when it belonged to the President of the Toulouse Parliament. Gaston Bonheur was originally from the Aude country. He started to work at Paris-Soir as a journalist and published his first book in 1935. He was one of the founder of Paris-Match post WWII and was doing the back and forth between Paris and Floure where he also started to make his own wine. He also had many guests stay at his house and counted people like French composer and singer Charles Trénet or painter Matisse as his friends...

Sentier Les Vestiges de Miramont - Barbaira

Château de Miramont is located on the slopes of the Montagne d'Alaric, a few kilometers from Carcassonne. It is reached by the tourist road between the villages of Monze and Barbaira. The castle dates from the eleventh to the thirteenth century. It is in ruins, but we still see its general organization: a central tower which remains a part of a vaulted room and an outdoor enclosure on which are backed various buildings. Château de Miramont is located in a very advantageous position overlooking the Aude valley. The remains of the Château de Miramont backing the northern flank of the mountain Alaric, 4 km southwest of the town of Barbaira. Standing on the isolated plateau, at over 300 meters above sea level, this site is a perimeter protégé. Du top of the promontory, the view embraces a beautiful landscape formed by the Aude valley, the reliefs of the Minervois up the bar of the Montagne Noire. Today we can say that the remains that still remain, were built on the king's castle bases Visigoth, Alaric II. Built on a strategic point, the building was probably built by the lords of Capendu in the early Middle Ages. Starting Barbaira (Place du Foyer). Go under the railway and take the side stones, route of medieval origin. At Place du Four, take the street Carrayrat and leave the village. Go under the motorway and turn right for about 300 m. Turn left, then right on a slightly cashed path, bordered by low walls. Follow this path until the lime kiln then parking of the nursery.

Gorges du Congoust - Montlaur

The meandering course of the stream of Mattes takes a spectacular parade of the mountains between Alaric and Hull: Gorges Congoust (named by the Romans co-angustum: constricted passage). The landscape is vegetation: very dry on the south side of Alaric, much of the wooded slope of the shell covered with thickets of evergreen oak. The course, framed by limestone cliffs and large boulders, is animated waterfalls and potholes, which punctuate and enliven the watercourse...

La Maison Aïni

La Maison Aïni - Serviès-en-Val

Philippe Aïni, born in Bordeaux on June 22, 1952, father of three children, suddenly broke with his existence as a pastry worker at the age of 24, to devote himself to creation (mainly paintings and sculptures). Without artistic training, he will invent his art from top to bottom. For 8 years, alone in his studio, he paints fiercely, seeing very few artists and close friends; nevertheless, his work interests: certain art lovers ask him to exhibit it: Jean-Pierre Roche, in particular, director of the Émergences gallery in Bordeaux, who passionately loves his work, exhibits it on several occasions, thus contributing to the make known in the South-West. Likewise Guy Lafargue who runs the Art Cru gallery in Auch. Philippe Aïni, unusual creator, totally self-taught painter, free from any cultural influence, rejects any identification with an artistic current. His artistic career and his notoriety have led him to exhibit in most of the major international cultural scenes. Aïni's painting uses an unusual ingredient, unusual in the art world: mattress floss, which he uses to serve his expression. Using this substance mixed with glue like a malleable paste, he made a material of amazing plasticity and will make a considerable contribution to his creation, allowing him to go further, ever further, in the transmission of life ... Today, the artist works on precious wood (red cedar, mahogany, iroko, rosewood, cedar of Lebanon) in search of unknown expressions which for him carry the meaning of another humanity.
