Opened some years ago by the former head chef of "La Barbacane", this restaurant has now won it's own Michelin star and was packed on the Friday lunchtime that we visited, always a good sign. It has a very contemporary design, including monogrammed plates, cutlery stands and slabs of butter and piped birdsong in the toilets (!) and is situated in a modern building beneath La Cite. The menus attempt to take you through an exploration of your emotions including one entitled "Action" Reaction - where the food is chosen for you. I can?t as yet comment on that as we contented ourselves with the very reasonable 25 fixed price lunch. In truth we were a little bit disappointed with the canap's and petit fours being the highlights for us, the intervening courses appeared to be trying too hard to impress, with more emphasis on look than on the eventual taste. I would love to know other people?s opinions and will certainly give it and the other menus another chance, when I've saved up a bit.
