Endless sport and leisure activities, 11 beaches, the old city of Agde with 2600 years worth of history, the Canal du Midi, the Herault River and an extinct volcano! Pézenas sits on the plains between the Haut (“Upper”) Languedoc National Park and the Mediterranean coastline. It is a mere twenty minutes from the clean sandy beaches of the Herault, half an hour from the beautiful rugged hill country inland and half an hour from what is surely one of the world’s most attractive cities – Montpellier. Pézenas has the feel of a small town with plenty of charm. Take a walk around the back streets and you will wander through medieval alleyways and squares bordered by tall elegant individualised houses replete with charm. There is a beautifully preserved Jewish ghetto settlement dating back to the middle ages, and the town is famed for being the dwelling place of French writer Moliere. Today there are still a number of writers who live locally...

Like Portiragnes and Vendres, Serignan feels more remote and wild, with a grassy sand bank hiding the few buildings that sit behind the beach. You can just see Cap D'Agde in the distance and the etang (inland lake) borders the north end of the beach. The restaurant behind the sand bank offers simple meals. You can also rent miniature ponies for kids to ride on. Serignan is quite popular in summer - so gets crowded. To get to the nude beach, turn right at the Ranch St Jean just before you get to Serignan - and follow the signs.
Serignan Plage is a popular South France beach destination for thousands of holiday-makers each year. Serignan Plage has a wild and natural look to the beach and offers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy beach games. The beach is protected by wild sand dunes at the back, which gives the beach a lovely character. The beach has a wide exapnse of fine golden sand. There is a small naturist section at the far left of the beach (near the salt marshes), but otherwise this beach is frequented by families (many staying at the local camp sites) and workers clocking off work in nearby Beziers...

Narbonne, France is a charming small city in the Languedoc, featuring wonderful historic attractions as well as a relaxing beach along the Mediterranean. The heart of Narbonne, once a key port for the Roman Empire, is the dramatic Place de l'Hotel de Ville. Also be sure to stroll through the village’s old town, where you can’t miss the main attraction: Cathedrale Saint-Just. The most dominant building in this neighborhood, the 13th century church connects to the Palais des Archevêques, which has an ornately carved 130-meter keep. The Horreum, the only significant ancient Roman relic in the city, is an intricate underground series of hallways and tunnels which is believed to have been used for grain storage. Open year-round, it closes Mondays from October through May. Also of interest is the Musee de Telephone, with exhibits on the history of communications, including telegraphs and, of course, the telephone. Be sure to visit Narbonne Plage (beach), which you can reach from the train station and several points in central Narbonne through the 'TUN' bus line. The beach area features boutiques and outdoor cafés...

Located at the gates of the Aude and the Narbonnaise Regional Natural Park in the Mediterranean, Kolandia Park is one of the most beautiful amusement parks in the Hérault dedicated to children. It was built just 400 meters from the western beach of Vendres. If you are staying in Occitania with young children, we definitely recommend that you visit our theme park. If your children want to trade their sandcastles for bouncy castles while on holiday in Vendres on the Languedoc coast, introduce them to the Kolandia Park. They will find enough to jump off and satisfy their adrenaline needs. In Kolandia Park between Vendres and Valras-Plage, the inflatable games seem to have sprung up like mushrooms in autumn...
