Leucate Naturist Beach & Village

You get to it by heading North up the D627 past Port Leucate. On the left is the etang where many sail-boarders go and before the bridge there is a right turning signed to Naturist Villages and the Centre Conchicole. After taking the turning there is a roundabout, turning right and next left after some newly built apartments brings one to a narrow bridge There is more parking to be found without crossing the bridge unless one is lucky, however it is only a short paved walk to the beach between two of the naturist 'villages'. ' Aphrodite' on the left has a restaurant on the beach and 'Oasis' has a pizza/cafe next to its swimming pool. Fresh water showers are available, and the beach is public and without wandering voyeurs. By the way us naturists prefer not to be called 'nudists' Turning left at the aforementioned roundabout brings the happy motorist to the third village called Ulysses, or to fishermens' cafes for the consumption of fresh shellfish!
8 beaches in Leucate for a holiday by the sea in the south of France

The five entities of Leucate share 18 Km of sandy coastline. The width varies from 400 m (Coussoules in La Franqui) to a few meters (the sheltered strip of beach at the foot of the cliff of Leucate Plage). It’s Exposure due east allows the brave or the night-owls to admire fabulous sunrises. The lake of Leucate also has a few small cosy beaches but in contrast with the sea, the water is very shallow & warm. Fans of late-afternoon strolls, on holiday in Leucate, can revel in magnificent sunsets on the background of the Canigou and the Corbières. That alone is worth the trip.
Leucate Naturist Beach & Village
Port-Leucate’s nudist Beach is located on the left bank of the port, between the dam and the Grau de Leucate (oyster farmers). This long beach of about 1 km is reserved exclusively for naturists. There, we find many naturists residences (fenced). Public access is available at the centre with ample free parking. The beach is ideal for naturism because it is away from the other beaches. In the centre of the beach, there is a lifeguard station open during the summer season.

Fitou

Fitou A.O.P.

The first "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée" wine of Languedoc-Roussillon, is only produced in nine small communal areas: FITOU, Caves, Treilles, Leucate and La Palme, which are all beside the sea, between Narbonne and Perpignan, and Cascastel, Paziols, Tuchan, and Villeneuve in the Corbières-Massif. Documents going back as far as Philip Augustus, Louis XIII and Louis XIV bear witness to the long-standing reputation of Fitou wines.Rabelais particularly appreciated "vin de Palme" which now has the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Fitou" label. he vineyards in Fitou are set out on shaly and argilocalcareous soils with exceptional exposure to the sun. The countryside, whose relief consists in parts of hills and slopes and in others of plateaux, has the advantage of a particularly dry climate and is often swept by a high wind, the "Cers"...

Domaine Maynadier - Fitou

A.O.P. Fitou A.O.P. Rivesaltes, Muscat de Rivesaltes  Acquired by my family in 1697, the estate that used to be an auberge has always provided for the production of the Fitou wine. I went with my parents full time in 1996. For over 10 years with my partner Ludovic we have been working the vineyard without a weed killer. We respect our country as much as possible to try and guarantee a future for our children. The work of the cellar is done in the same spirit with a minimum of input, so drinking a little should not harm the head or the most vulnerable stomach. The vineyards of the Languedoc extend over a vast area in the south of France. From the Mediterranean coast of Leucate, in the west to Nimes and the Camargue, the east, it covers the foothills of the Cévennes to the doors of Carcassonne. Under the decisive influence of the Mediterranean climate and the Tramontana, it contains four producing regions with the Languedoc wines - Aude, Gard, Eastern Pyrenees and Hérault - they offering a wide range of red, white or rosé. Today, AOP Languedoc has 36 appellations and denominations, each with their own specificity. The AOP Fitou represents one of the most famous names in the region. The wines of Fitou come from the blending of four grape varieties, which gives the talent of every winemaker the freedom to develop his blends as he wants and that lead to powerful wines that are never equal...
