Les Chasses au Trésor: La Clape...

Discover La Clape in a fun way and visit unusual or unmissable places thanks to a treasure hunt in the form of a box containing a magic card, mirror and / or other surprising clues. At the end of your adventure, a treasure awaits you... Be careful though: the treasure hunt makes you addicted! If you do one there is a good chance you will want to do more! We will have warned you...
Les Chasses au Trésor: La Clape
How it works ? It's very simple !

Buy a “treasure hunters” box in one of the points of sale (often the town's tourist office). One box is sufficient for a family of 3/4 people or for a group of friends. Once the box in hand, you are in total autonomy. Inside the box are all the necessary items to complete your adventure.

Our course last on average 1h30 (2,5 km), but you are free to do it at your own pace. At the end of the adventure, remember to return to the tourist office (pay attention to the schedules) to collect your reward: the one, the real, the only treasure hunter badge to collect.
  La Malediction de la Mouette...

What to do in Massif de la Clape with children? or even without? A treasure hunt, of course! And here is the story of which you will be the hero:
An old legend has it that sailors who disappeared at sea are reincarnated as a seagull. It is for this reason that whoever attacks a seagull is cursed.
Les Chasses au Trésor: La Clape
For having shot a slingshot at one of these birds, Jean Lateigne, Olympic rascal, was cursed. He promised a pretty treasure to the one who will deliver him from this curse.

To get there, get the box "the curse of the seagull", cross the marine cemetery and explore the chapel of Notre Dame des Auzils in Gruissan.

(Ideal for family or adults. Not accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. Advice: Walking shoes recommended, Remember to check the opening hours of the chapel with the Gruissan Tourist Office).

La Clape

La Clape A.O.P.

The La Clape AOP is located where the Coteaux du Languedoc and Corbières appellations overlap and is well known for its vineyards that lie on a limestone outcropping that extends across the entire region. The region produces red, rose and white wines that are fully representative of the region and the reds show particularly well, often times considered a vin de garde. The majority of the wines of Gruissan are produced on the Clape. This little mountain, situated between Narbonne and Gruissan was an isle at the time of prehistoric man. The Clape, gets its name from the Occitan word « Clapas » meaning a pile of stones, and reaches a height of 214 m. The pine trees cover the slopes of the Clape. The garrigue covers the plateaux and the thyme, the rosemary and the lavender that invite you to promenade are what give the wines their character...
