A few steps from the Mediterranean, the ancestral domain now holds in his heart a place apart where simple pleasures are cherished as well as elegance. Between auberge and bistrot, cuisine and wine, olive trees and basil, le Potager is a table to share, sincerely.
So close to the sea, in the village of Sigean, this beautiful detour by itself, the Domain of the Macquart family for nearly 400 years covers now 40 hectares, including 10 of organic vineyards surrounded by scrubland and pine forests. In the old buildings of his traditional Languedoc farm, Dominique Macquart, winemaker and owner of the place, has created his place apart.
We can already feel it when we open the wooden door painted with this sunny red signing for the warmth of the place: The patio that opens on the large fireplace, its olive and lemon trees tells about a interlude especially tasty as it shows that, here, the style is important as well.
We are in the old stables of the Domain: the exposed frame is dressed in white, the watering trough have become flowerboxes, objects from the past are staging, paintings of friends artists hang over the mangers, the main room of the restaurant proudly displays its stone walls and tables are adorned with the beautiful southern colours stripes from les Toiles du Soleil. The designer Christine Clédat loves Le Potager and carefully preserved its soul. |

Specialities
Because, this is what it is
about here, the soul, the one
from the land and from those who
are working there, the one which
feeds the vine and the charms of
the vegetable garden we sit in
front for hours under the shadow
of the fig tree, the one that
sets the tone of a cuisine made
of real flavors.
What can we say about this
generous table: that Catalan
sausages, as well as leg of lamb
and duck breasts are roasted in
the fireplace with vine shoots,
Dominique one’s, of course, that
you can taste the potatoes
cooked in ash with their chive
cream as well as discover the
brilliant blend of minced pork
foot, roquette, eggplant caviar
and parmesan in a well called
Tarte du Potager, this one where
the chef Claude is excellent as
well in a crab soup and a newly
created stuffed eggplant with
minced cod.
The beautiful vegetables of
this garden, a real one and
organic too, join the menu
throughout the season in order
for tomatoes, eggplant, peppers
and zucchini to bring the colors
of their taste to sea or land
dishes, when, by the sweets
side, it is in the young Lucas’s
hands who knows how to make a
simple Mille-feuille just
unforgettable.

The Corbières is one of the wildest areas of France with one of the lowest population densities. It is picturesque with wine growing areas alternating with garigue and mountainous countryside. It is located mainly in the Aude département and partly in the Pyrénées-Orientales département. The River Aude borders the Corbières to the west and north. To the south is the River Agly and to the east the the Mediterranean Sea. The name Corbières comes from "cor" a pre-Celtic word meaning "rock" and "berre" from the River Berre which runs through Durban. The eastern part of the Corbières with its Etangs, borders the the Mediterranean Sea and is called the Corbières maritimes. It has its own distinctive climate and characteristic vegetation known as thermomediterranean vegetation...

|
|
Château de Lastours is in the south of France, in the Corbières area, on an old Roman road known as the Via Domitia – which goes from Narbonne to Spain. A castrum was built on the route to accommodate travellers.
The Castrum de Turribus later became Château de Lastours, in reference to the watchtowers that overlooked the Via Domitia at this particularly dangerous point.
Château de Lastours has been the property of the Allard family since 2004. The family put all their energy and enthusiasm into making the most of their outstanding land. Their purpose is to grow great wines and attract tourists to this unrivalled location.
The Château de Lastours estate spans 850 hectares of steep hillsides and deep canyons. The 100-hectare terraced vineyard is nestled in the middle.
The estate has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry, sunny summers and precipitation spread evenly during the other three seasons.
The northern tramontana wind keeps the temperatures from climbing too high...

created by Henri Fabre in 1955, it brings together the product of excavations by the latter with Henri Barbouteau. Many traces show an occupation around the Doul since prehistoric times. The sarcophagus remains of St Paul reminds the implantation site of the old church and the location of the original village. In Gallo-Roman times, a habitat has been organized on the oppidum of the mill. The excavations have delivered a magnificent collection of amphorae and many everyday items. Finally, many vestiges of Roman colonization were found at the site of the ancient villas located near the Domitian...
