The Honey, it is little as the wine: the more we know about things on him, the more we understand that he is alive, and the more we estimate him...

At the honey farm, you can explore the world of bees and honey and the nature and heritage of the Corbières area.

The bee-keepers themselves will explain all the stages of manufacture and get you to join in.

To end the visit, there is a tasting of the honey farm's products which can be bought on site (honey, gingerbread, mead, pollen, honey caramels, candles...).
  Specialities

Situated between the Sea and the delicious smells of the Garrigue, come and visit the honey makers at Montséret .

Close to the Abbey of Fontfroide, in the heart of the Corbieres vinyard, the bee-keepers of the -miellerie des Clauses- will welcome and allow you to disover their daily gestures and their passion for the trade and their honey.

You will be able to taste a large range of honey.

Here, the ginger-breads are exclusively prepared with honey.

You will find several varieties, each one more mellow than the other...

Château Aiguilloux

Château Aiguilloux - Thézan-des-Corbières

A.O.P. CorbièresAt the heart of the Corbières, the Aiguilloux Castle was born. Quickly elegant wines, robust reds, harvest moult golden awards from the second harvest. Here, a commitment: a respect for the vines, fruit, local; uncompromising work in the cellar, a constant desire to understand the land and allow each wine to express its typicality. This is the price we will continue to make a difference. This is of course the love of this land, which has led us to reasoned cultivation of the vineyards to organic farming since 2014. In 1982, Martha and François Lemarié, Autodidactes winemakers, that nothing predestined this adventure, discovered this "little paradise" modestly named "the Aiguillous" Occitan name of the small stream at the edge of the vineyard. It was love at first sight! Food lovers and lovers of good wine and good food, so they decided patiently learning to "to bottle happiness," but by a rigorous artistic mastery, vinification techniques...

Château Saint-Estève

Château Saint-Estève - Thézan-des-Corbières

A.O.P. CorbièresSylvie, Eric and David Latham family-lead this domain of 130 ha in part on the soil of Boutenac, origin of the greatest wines of the Corbières. Discover the history of the passion of the family since 1973 and follow us the manufacturing of wines. The Chateau, not far from Thézan-des-Corbières, is nestled among the vines, wrapped by two hills- one side of which belongs to the massif of Corbières and the other side Mount Sainte-Victoire. The calmness of Saint-Esteve is only interrupted in summer by the singings of cicadas, winged pipelettes perched on the majestic pines in the domaine. There, they can admire the scrubland, the blue sky, protruding rocks, and a magnificent wilderness. Lavender, thyme, and rosemary spread sweet scents and subtly delights the senses. In the park, near the Lady Chapel, is a spring of water to complete this oasis of peace...

Auberge
du Vieux Puits

Auberge du Vieux Puits - Fontjoncouse

If you love excellent food and wine, then there can be no finer restaurant in the South of France as Auberge du Vieux Puits. This 3 star Michelin restaurant is run by the celebrated French chef, Gilles Goujon. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food, the service, the wine, the cheese . . . all were excellent. Nobody has given Gilles Goujon anything for free. On the contrary. In a bucolic atmosphere far from the mundane noise, in an austere building –sold by the tiny Town Hall– he has been progressively restoring for a decade, he has been able to captivate plenty of customers and reach the top of the French guides: 5 hats in Gault Millau and 3 stars in Michelin. We can say we are before a self-made man who had to fight and sweat blood to reach fame; a fame very few chefs deserve so clearly...

Les Terrasses
de la Berre

Les Terrasses de la Berre - Portel des Corbières

The owners of Les Terrasses de la Berre gives you a warm welcome. This charming restaurant is a small cosy place with a fireplace, badly needed, because it was lashing rain outside. They have a lovely menu. Salads for starters, a selection of lovely local cheeses and its majesty, the local specialty Cassoulet, what a culinary experience. Nice place, in a nice village, run by lovely people and fantastic food.... you happen to pass by, this is a must try place... The restaurant has multiple small terraces overlooking the Berre. Note that the unusable terraces are the days of high winds. Summer must be reserved for certain of being placed...

La Chapelle Notre Dame des Oubiels

La Chapelle Notre Dame des Oubiels - Portel-des-Corbières

Notre Dame des Oubiels is first a majestic ruin, historical monument of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, situated between vineyards and olive trees. It is accessed through the village to walk out, to spend pleasant moments there amid the 'Garrigue' with the view of Portel-des-Corbières. With fine weather, many Portel hikers arrives, walkers and tourists. Their first visit is the old ruined church, La Chapelle Notre Dame des Oubiels. And the questions are always the same: when was this church built? What is the origin of its name? Why they have built so far from the village? By whom has it been destroyed? We will try to respond succinctly. The ruins of this old church, Notre Dame des Oubiels (lambs), are located a kilometer west of the village, built near the défilé de la Reïnadouïre (la Reine des eaux), crossed by the river Berre...
