Kolandia Park - Vendres

Located at the gates of the Aude and the Narbonnaise Regional Natural Park in the Mediterranean, Kolandia Park is one of the most beautiful amusement parks in the Hérault dedicated to children. It was built just 400 meters from the western beach of Vendres. If you are staying in Occitania with young children, we definitely recommend that you visit our theme park.
Kolandia Park - Vendres
If your children want to trade their sandcastles for bouncy castles while on holiday in Vendres on the Languedoc coast, introduce them to the Kolandia Park. They will find enough to jump off and satisfy their adrenaline needs. In Kolandia Park between Vendres and Valras-Plage, the inflatable games seem to have sprung up like mushrooms in autumn
Open in the summer, this theme park offers dozens of inflatables in a small area. Once inside, your kids will discover the inflatables one by one and spend their time enjoying the ones they most freely appreciate. Will they dare to jump in the slide to race with their new friends all day! Will they be impressed by the enormous giraffe, dolphin or duck? Do they recognize Bart Simpson and will they play just as fearlessly? Will they be the first to reach the top of the dome?
Kolandia Park - Vendres
As soon as the doors of Kolandia Park open for you, one thing is certain: you will be able to capture beautiful colorful photos of your children and your family, which will be great fun later on. The artificial turf around the inflatables allows children to move freely without footwear.

Kolandia Park in Vendres is the largest inflatable play park in Occitanie. The park has a snack bar and a shaded terrace surrounded by inflatable structures. Here you can relax, have a drink and a snack while your children have fun...

Valras-Plage

Valras-Plage

Valras beach is one of Languedoc's big 'town beaches' like Narbonne, Canet and Palavas. It's certainly bustling, with plenty of tacky postcard shops and ice cream stalls. The beach itself is nice, with large wave-breakers having been built to stop erosion. This has created a number of 'beachlets' - smaller beaches separated by thin rock promontories. A good choice if you have kids, as ice cream and kiddie areas are never far, but not particularly beautiful or atmospheric. Valras-Plage is a typical Southern France beach resort. Ringed with lots of decent restaurants, a harbour and plenty of shops, Valras-Plage also offers you plenty of things to do when you want a break from the beach. This South of France beach has clean, warm water and the beach itself is well maintained. The wide open expanse of sand at Valras-Plage, France, comfortably accomodates large numbers of holiday makers, allowing you enough room to spread out and relax. There is also plenty to do after the beach with lots of restaurants, boutiques and ice cream stalls. During the summer there is also a childrens adventure park and fairground rides just by the harbour...

Le Massif
de la Clape

Le Massif de la Clape - Narbonne (Plage)

The Massif de la Clape – ‘stone’ in local dialect - was, until recent geological time, an actual island. This insularity, still apparent in the landscape, has given rise to a particularly rich and original variety of plant and animal life. Today, the La Clappe Heights remain one of those unusual, spellbound places where modem man can still feel, with ahnost every step he takes, the imprint of his long-gone ancestors. The Oeil Doux is a natural waterhole surrounded by cliffs with an abrupt eastern face overhanging the surface 130 feet below (40m). The cliff is made of hard fissured limestone whose crevices are full of red clay; it was formed during the middle geological era. The north side, less steep, is made of marly limestone from an older geological age and is particularly rich in fossile deposits, notably Orbolitines (Mesorbitolna texana), Brachypodes, Lamellibranches and sea urchins (dating from the Clansayesian period). The presence of this hole at this site can be explained by the fragility of the wider area which displays many faults; two of them major. The water in the hole is salty : the salinity, as well as the level, varies with the rainfall and the movements of the Mediterranean just a mile (1,500m) away. The whole zone is part of a submerged karstic formation...

Musée des dinosaures et de la Préhistoire de Mèze

The largest Museum-Park in Europe devoted to dinosaurs in the middle of an outstanding paleontological site. An extraordinary voyage in time. The remains of an extremely large dinosaur of the Iguanodon family have been discovered here. It could be a new species! July 2004 : New Museum-Park "Origins and Evolution of man" In 1996, an outstanding paleontological site consisting of numerous dinosaur eggs and fossilised bones was discovered in Mèze (Hérault County), 20 miles from Montpellier in Languedoc-Roussillon, in the south of France To protect this remarkable heritage, an open-air museum was founded in the heart of the site. Extensive paleontological digs and research are continuing in the area. The originality of this approach is to offer both a cultural centre and a teaching structure at the same time, thus taking due account of the interests of researchers and the general public. The Mèze Museum-Park tells the story of dinosaurs from their origin to their extinction, explaining all we have learnt about them from their discovery to the most recent scientific research. Designed to cater for all types of public, this top quality Museum site encourages visitors of all ages to observe, understand and participate in what is a new, highly original concept, an open-air museum...

Oppidum d'Ensérune - Nissan-lez-Enserune

Oppidum d'Ensérune - Nissan-lez-Ensérune

Come and visit the archaeological site of Ensérune lying ten kilometres from Béziers between the Languedoc garrigues and the shores of the Mediterranean, and discover one of the most important Gaulish villages in the South of France. The Oppidum d'Ensérune is an ancient hill-town (or oppidum) near the village of Nissan-lez-Ensérune, France, located between Béziers and Narbonne close to the D609 (formerly RN9) and Canal du Midi.  The fields at Montady, below the Oppidum was the swamp of Montady, which is now wedge shaped fields separated by irrigation ditches that converge in the centre. In the 13th century, the swamp was drained; the ditches allowed water to flow to the centre of the circular depression, from which it was conveyed through underground pipes several kilometres to the south. The drainage is still functional and remains in use...
