Golf Saint-Thomas - Béziers

With its 18 holes (par 72 - 6704y / 6130m - designed by Patrice Lammbert) set in typically Mediterranean scenery in the still wild garrigue, The Saint-Thomas golf course has its own particular personality to interest all levels of player, from the beginner to the very experienced.
Golf Saint-Thomas - Béziers
The St Thomas golf course is in a special Setting at the heart of typically Mediterranean garrigue surroundings. On this exceptional site green spaces and wild natural areas co-exist in harmony over a wide area. A green heaven where every one from the expert golfer to the novice can fulfill their wishes and improve their skills...
Designed by Patrice Lammbert, the 18 holes vary a great deal and the golfer is faced with real difficulties. The main impression that one is left with is of a place of peace and quiet due to the beautiful setting surrounded by all the different colours of nature. There are many animals around the course, such as ducks, partridges, hares and rabbits, confirming the impression of a place of natural interest. From a technical point of view, while all your golf clubs are necessary to play the course, a successful round also requires intelligence and a solid game. The clubhouse is well equipped and as with the course, leaves the visitor with a pleasant feeling of well-being.

DIFFICULT HOLES

The course was constructed in a natural setting in the centre of the garrigue. The first five holes are in a wood and require maximum care.

The ball must be placed and not driven. You will need to conserve your strength for the 15th, 16th, and 17th holes as their are water obstacles to clear which are waiting to swallow your golf ball!

The golden rule of this course is not to take unnecessary risks and to play wisely.

Cap-d'Agde
Naturist Village

Cap-d'Agde Naturist Village

If you want a beautiful, relaxing summer beach holiday by the Mediterranean, in an environment that is classy, clean and family friendly, then you should seriously consider a fortnight in Cap d'Agde - one of France's largest and most popular holiday destinations. Popular with the French for decades, Cap d'Agde is now welcoming more and more English speaking holiday makers thanks to improved travel links and a real effort on the part of the Tourist Office to make Cap d'Agde a friendly, well organised and attractive destination for international visitors. For many years the resort's main claim to fame was its nudist beach and naturist village but these days, as you will discover here in FrenchEntree's Guide to Cap d'Agde and the city of Agde, there is so much more on offer for couples and families of all ages. Endless sport and leisure activities, 11 beaches, the old city of Agde with 2600 years worth of history, the Canal du Midi, the Herault River and an extinct volcano! Jump on a cheap flight to Cap d'Agde via Montpellier or Beziers and see for yourself!

Sérignan-Plage

Sérignan-Plage - Sérignan

Like Portiragnes and Vendres, Serignan feels more remote and wild, with a grassy sand bank hiding the few buildings that sit behind the beach. You can just see Cap D'Agde in the distance and the etang (inland lake) borders the north end of the beach. The restaurant behind the sand bank offers simple meals. You can also rent miniature ponies for kids to ride on. Serignan is quite popular in summer - so gets crowded. To get to the nude beach, turn right at the Ranch St Jean just before you get to Serignan - and follow the signs. Serignan Plage is a popular South France beach destination for thousands of holiday-makers each year. Serignan Plage has a wild and natural look to the beach and offers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy beach games. The beach is protected by wild sand dunes at the back, which gives the beach a lovely character. The beach has a wide exapnse of fine golden sand. There is a small naturist section at the far left of the beach (near the salt marshes), but otherwise this beach is frequented by families (many staying at the local camp sites) and workers clocking off work in nearby Beziers...

Oppidum d'Ensérune - Nissan-lez-Enserune

Oppidum d'Ensérune - Nissan-lez-Ensérune

Come and visit the archaeological site of Ensérune lying ten kilometres from Béziers between the Languedoc garrigues and the shores of the Mediterranean, and discover one of the most important Gaulish villages in the South of France. The Oppidum d'Ensérune is an ancient hill-town (or oppidum) near the village of Nissan-lez-Ensérune, France, located between Béziers and Narbonne close to the D609 (formerly RN9) and Canal du Midi.  The fields at Montady, below the Oppidum was the swamp of Montady, which is now wedge shaped fields separated by irrigation ditches that converge in the centre. In the 13th century, the swamp was drained; the ditches allowed water to flow to the centre of the circular depression, from which it was conveyed through underground pipes several kilometres to the south. The drainage is still functional and remains in use...
