Chez Prano - Durban-Corbières

Chez Prano is a bar-brasserie that animates a small village in the Corbières. Regular or passing customers, for a cup of coffee in the morning or a musical evening, you will be greeted by Alexis Pranovi and his team throughout the seasons. This establishment is the realization of a somewhat crazy idea: to transform the medical center of the village into a real place of life accessible to all. It is the result of the work of Alexis and his family who have always believed in his project.
Chez Prano - Durban-Corbières
The summer season is quite long in our region thanks to the Mediterranean climate and late summer in particular. So you can enjoy the terrace from April to October. During this period we organize concerts outside on our large terrace with different musical groups for a moment of conviviality and well-being for everyone. Every year we have the honor of welcoming EKO EKO, Michel Delamore, Duo Horizon, Yasmine or even Pascal Chapert… regulars to the house. We are already preparing some nice surprises for the coming season.
La cuisine de la chef Claudine

It is rigorous and generous cuisine that will delight gourmets. They are traditional dishes, regional and local dishes with Claudine's personal touch. The chef ensures the correct preparation, the harmony of flavors and the balance of spices. Claudine shares with you her love for the region that she communicates on your plate. To enjoy without measure.
Chez Prano - Durban-Corbières
In addition to morning coffee and refreshing drinks, we offer traditional home cooking all day long, prepared by Chef Claudine. In winter, a different menu is offered every lunch of the week, such as bourguignon, fried veal or cod with aioli. There is also a map available for you. In summer we offer a new menu every year with different dishes, meat, fish, burgers or meal salads, not to mention our selection of quality wines, all on our beautiful terrace or in our air-conditioned indoor space...

Domaine de La Peyrouse - Durban-Corbières

A.O.P. CorbièresAt the heart of Cathar country, we exploit this area located on the land of Durban-Corbières. Surrounded by a rocky barrier rising to 600 meters, the vineyards of Durban-Corbières enjoys a micro climate, the very marked summer drought is offset by a long period very favorable to the maturation of the berries. Located in the hills, vines occupy a multitude of small plots, the know-how of the wine grower associated with these natural conditions allows us to produce high quality wines. The health status of the harvest is naturally good. However, vintners Domaine de La Peyrouse go further by practicing agriculture biologique, Certificated from harvest 2013. Harvest ranged from September to October depending on the grape varieties, terroirs and types of wines sought the grapes picked at optimum maturity are vinified traditionally, we have at heart to preserve our traditions, while using derrieres winemaking techniques, and with a total stalking and constant monitoring of fermentation temperatures maceration can be long and extract all the aromas and tannins varietal wines and elaborate, deep red, have a good tannic structure associated with the particular flavors of each grape will long aging and will honor your table...

Château Gléon Montanié - Durban-Corbières

A.O.P. CorbièresThe origins of the Domaine de Gléon estate can be traced back to ancient times. Evidence of this lies in the many Gallo-Roman and Visigoth remains (Gaufresenque pottery, pre-Romanesque chapel). For ten centuries the estate belonged to the Treille-Gléon-Durban-Narbonne family. Château Gléon guarded access to the Hautes-Corbières. It was besieged by the Spanish in 1503. The last Marquis of Gléon sold the estate to the ancestors of the current owners in 1861. Since then, the Château Gléon has been run by the Bonnes family, and latterly by the Montanié family, handed down from father to son. There have thus been six generations safeguarding the prosperity and quality of the castle's lands. The first "bottling" dates back from the end of the 19th century. The Estate lies at the gateway to the Hautes-Corbières, in the canton of Durban, attached to the village of Villesèque-des-Corbières, at the entrance to what is known as Paradise Valley. It covers 303 ha/750 acres, including 50 ha/150 acres of vineyards...

Sentier
Le Gourg
de Talairan

Le Gourg de Talairan - Talairan

Talairan, fortified village. You can walk through the vineyards at the edge of the cliffs and the dried up river Nielle. You can also admire the clear waters of Gourg Goutonnier... Leave the village on the D323. You’ll walk past a basin (known as the “lavoir à pétales”, the petal washtub), extremely pleasant during the warm summer months. Take the chemin de la Croisette which will take you to the Notre-Dame-de-l’Ere chapel. Follow for about 600 m, before climbing the Buffanel on a small path to the left through the garrigue on the edge of the superb Gorges of the Nielle stream, twisting and turning 100 m below. Walk up along the gorges on a small ridge path, and continue alongside a fenced vineyard...

Le Jardin Botanique de Foncaude

Le Jardin Botanique de Foncaude - Feuilla

A botanical garden created in 1991, set in an outstanding, wild "garrigue" landscape - the typical scrubland of the south. The garden covers 7.5 hectares and is made up of three parts. The arboretum has more than 300 species of trees, shrubs, palms and conifers - 2,500 trees have been planted here. The cactus rock gardens have around 8,000 plants (including 1,300 different species). The Mediterranean zone has about 340 species. It is one of the largest collections of ground-planted cacti and succulents in France and also boasts a collection of agaves...

Auberge
du Vieux Puits

Auberge du Vieux Puits - Fontjoncouse

If you love excellent food and wine, then there can be no finer restaurant in the South of France as Auberge du Vieux Puits. This 3 star Michelin restaurant is run by the celebrated French chef, Gilles Goujon. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food, the service, the wine, the cheese . . . all were excellent. Nobody has given Gilles Goujon anything for free. On the contrary. In a bucolic atmosphere far from the mundane noise, in an austere building –sold by the tiny Town Hall– he has been progressively restoring for a decade, he has been able to captivate plenty of customers and reach the top of the French guides: 5 hats in Gault Millau and 3 stars in Michelin. We can say we are before a self-made man who had to fight and sweat blood to reach fame; a fame very few chefs deserve so clearly...

Tuchan

Tuchan

Tuchan lies in a plain and bordered to the west by Mont Tauch which at 900 meters dominates the town. It has always been productive but whereas you might at one time have seen flocks of sheep or goats wandering around and cereals being cultivated you can now only see varieties of vines like syrah, carignan, grenache, muscat all growing in orderly rows. The town lives off the grape and its current relative prosperity is due to the success of Fitou wine and the successful marketing by the Mont Tauch Co-operative. Tuchan has the atmosphere of a border town with Mont Tauch rising bleakly to the west and the Tramantane wind blowing strongly through the narrow streets. The old border between France and Aragon, and Spain, guarded by the Châteaux of Queribus and Peyrepertuse is only a few kilometres away. The town and its surrounding area has been lived in and fought over for a very long time. In the nearby village of Tauteval, a skeleton of 400,000 years old was found. At Château Nouvelles, 2 kilometres, to the north (where very good Fitou wine can be bought) an old roman road, the via Mercadaria, passes close by. The Romans were here mining the iron, gold, silver and lead. Narbonne, a major Roman port on the Mediterranean coast, now the sous-prefecture for the Aude, is 45 kilometres away...

Randonnée
La Serre de Roquefort-des-Corbières

La Serre de Roquefort-des-Corbières

This journey from Roquefort des Corbières, long ago was close to our heart and it is time to do it before the summer heat has settled. The absence or rather the rarity of the shade and the water are put here. La Tramontane is also to be taken into account, although we do not find it extremely unpleasant. Under these conditions, this loop-shaped route will allow you to enjoy the scenery in complete tranquility from the heights. The clad yellow markings are present and well visible and precise. The start of the walk takes place between Cellier de Roquefort and the Café du Marché, at the mural. Go to the rue des Trois-Moulins and follow the Chemin Camin-del-Bosc about 300 meters. This route is also used for Le Sentier Cathare. Then take the Chemin de la Triolle to the right, leading to the exit of the village. The road leads along vineyards and passes into a narrow path surrounded by scrubland (garrigues) and fragrant pine trees, and then follow a footpath for a few hundred meters before turning left onto the Plateau Vabina. The progress will work well, the landscapes are amazing and soon one after another appears by following the path. Pastoral history shows itself well, which has to be placed in the context of time and seems to be well-helped by the idyllic landscape...
