Spread over 22 hectares, our vineyard is located in the Aude heart and Cathar country. Bordered by the Black Mountain and Pyrenees, we give the necessary attention to obtain grape berries with optimal qualities. We grow nine varieties in northwest of Malepère appellation. We product "AOP Malepère" and "IGP Pays d' OC" wines, appreciated for their balance and fruity aromas.

The avenue of Robert Cedars imposes its majestic silhouette on land heirs of a culture more than two thousand years. The vineyard is located on a plateau of sandy gravel between the Black Mountains and the Pyrenees that form the horizon. The wines is issued from rational practices and low yields and perfectly illustrate the alliance of Mediterranean warmth and southwestern structure.

The vineyard is located between the foothills of the Massif Central « called the Black Mountain » in the North and the Pyrenees in the South, from 12,42 Miles of Carcassonne (20 km) and 6,21 Miles of Castelnaudary (10 km). The Cèdres de Robert is settled on the village of Villesiscle (11150); In the North West of Malepère Appellation, the field extends to the terroir of the Dominicans, echoing its history...

If the grapes are respected in the vineyard they are even more in the cellar. Everything has been designed to maximize the value of Bacchus fruits. The proximity of the vineyards surrounding the winery allows a very short path of the harvest and therefore no heating, they are handled with care. Stalking the harvest as well as presses allow a slow pressure, very soft, very homogeneous and juices are of high quality. The winery is equipped with a system to control temperatures also has the advantage of being thoroughly cleaned to prevent contamination that could alter the quality of the wines. The typicality of each plot can produce for the same variety different characteristics. To account for these features, tanks with small volumes have been installed. This harmonizes the assemblies of the wines by year.

Convinced that great wines are prepared initially in the vineyard, all the energy is for winemakers give them the best care and to maintain the balance of this region. Each plot receives appropriate care according to the nature of the soil, weather conditions and the choice of the size performed in order to obtain optimum quality of grape berries and bring them to perfect maturity.

The exceptional natural predispositions are not enough to produce great wines. It’s Man, by his passion, rigor and expertise, which will transform and reveal what nature puts him available. This is what we are trying to achieve with each of the three steps are viticulture, oenology processing and livestock. The vineyard yield between 25 and 45 hl / ha. The objective is to reduce production by strain and get a higher quality aromatic concentration. A winemakers team is trained to drive different sized works, tethering, disbudding, stripping to obtain healthy grapes harvested at perfect maturity. The area covers 32 hectares and cultivated varieties are: For Red /Rose - Merlot, Cabernet Fran, Syrah, Grenache Noir,  Pinot Noir, Malbec/Côt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan and for white - Chardonnay...

A.O.P. Malepère - Côtes de la Malepère

The Malepère region was awarded AOP status on May 2nd 2007. It is a hilly area south-west of the city of Carcassonne which is included in the appellation along with 31 other towns and villages. Although the area claims a great history of wine making it was in the 1970’s that the vineyards began to be replanted and VDQS status was granted. VDQS is the intermediary wine designation between Vin de Pays and AOP and is a testing ground for would-be AOP’s to prove that wines from all the producers share a common personality before they can be awarded full AOP status. Although an obscure region the Malepère is well worth a visit and offers a very different terrain to the more recognizable Languedoc appellations. There are many interesting medieval circular villages to visit. They were built this way to form ramparts to act as protection for the inhabitants. The Cathar religion was strong here and the area is immersed in history and folklore...
