The La Clape former island site contains a wonderful diversity of fauna and flora and marmorieres in plenly in.

You can find in Marmorières olive trees, almond trees, pine trees, fennel, rock roses and other flowers smelling scrubland. Hares, rabbits and partridges share territory with wild boar in bright sunshine and some windy whims. Marmorières covers 350 hectares in the municipalities of Vinassan and Fleury d'Aude. The Commandery of St Pierre la Garrigue overlooks the Mediterranean sea on about 60 hectares.

The oldest and largest vineyard of La Clape where classified remains of former fortified castle dated of ninth century.

The vineyard is located in the heart of the old "Lakes Island" and enjoy the finest soils to produce wines. The surrounding scrubland, pine forests, the proximity to the sea and the clay-limestone soils allow to reach a perfect aromatic and phenolic ripeness with perfect berries. Thanks to the sea sprays and a milder temperature wines are fine, aromatic and structured.

Indeed, Villa Marinorema changes name to Marmoreria infra leci insula. The story begins however in the vineyard, a long time before the Romans and Julius Caesar which granted the vineyards of la Clape to its greatest standards.

The Chapel
Construction of the Roman chapel, which has been restored in 2000. It seems as if she is looking after the vineyard of Marmorières for a millennium. Since 1826, 8 successive generations produce elegant great wines from the largest vineyard of the la Clape Cru.

The vineyards of Marmorières extend on 160 hectars
Some parcels admire the Pyrenees, others are planted on limestone hillsides, enjoying the fresh sea. The presence of such a diversity of terroirs and 16 vines varieties allow the development of complex aromas and extraordinary finess.

8 Generation know-how for exceptional wines
Eight generations have put their expertise and their knowledge of the terroirs of Marmorières to develop a wide range of wines. From fruity and easy drinkable Pays d’Oc wines for grilling with friends to more structured, complex and fine la Clape great wines for lovers and epicureans.

  It's typical landscape consists of a succession of rocky plateaus separated by narrow ravines, where low scrubland dominates. Facing the sea, vast pine forests consist mainly of Aleppo pine trees have taken root. Featuring a remarkable fauna and flora, massive houses knapweed "corymbosa" commonly called "knapweed Clape", which is an endemic plant. Northwest oaks and downy oaks mingle with pine nuts and pine vegetation still testify today that covered 3000 BC. We will be on the Massif de la Clape. It borrows from the slopes and trails. They are mounted but they are not steep if not we will walk in places on rocky trails. The sticks also are recommended. Small loop around the Pech Redon but it is only a variant which allows to discover the joys of "bartassage" for those who do not know...

The museum has been created in the Palais Vieux (Old Palace, 11th-12th centuries). Its prehistoric collections and relics depict the origins and ancient past of Narbonne and the surrounding area. The collection includes mosaics, statues, coffins, furnishings, a wooden anchor discovered in Narbonne's port, frescoes from the Clos de la Lombarde (a Gallo-Roman villa north of the town), all of which amount to the largest collection in Roman Gaul. On the first floor, the French ceilings dating from the start of the 19th century are not to be missed....

The grassy banks of the Canal du Robine provide a pleasant splash of green and colourful flowers....
