Specialties
The vineyard, located a few miles away from Carcassonne, spreads out over 87 hectares at the foothills of the Alaric Mountain. It consists of 27 hectares AOC wine and 60 hectares of Vin de Pays d’Oc.
The annual production is about 4,000 hectolitres meaning approx. 550.000 bottles.
We manage our vineyard using traditional methods respecting nature and picking by hand.
On argyle-chalky soils, at the foothills of the Alaric mountain, the production remains under strict control in order to reach a maximum yield of 50 hectolitres per hectare for the AOC Corbieres. The Mediterranean grape varieties Carignan, Grenache and Syrah are perfectly adapted to our soil and to the exacting climate conditions of the south of France. Some parts of our vineyards are over 50 years of age and up to 100 years for the oldest. They demand a lot of attention during the year before we harvest in September and October the best this marvelous vineyard has to offer.
Our plots of Vin de Pays are located in the plain of Capendu. They produce fruity and well-balanced wines. Our red wines are made from the Bordeaux varietals Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our white wine presents the originality that it is produced from Bordeaux’s Sauvignon grape and from Burgundy’s Chardonnay grape. Our fresh rose wine is made from Grenache gris and Syrah, both local varietals.

The Corbières is one of the wildest areas of France with one of the lowest population densities. It is picturesque with wine growing areas alternating with garigue and mountainous countryside. It is located mainly in the Aude département and partly in the Pyrénées-Orientales département. The River Aude borders the Corbières to the west and north. To the south is the River Agly and to the east the the Mediterranean Sea. The name Corbières comes from "cor" a pre-Celtic word meaning "rock" and "berre" from the River Berre which runs through Durban. The eastern part of the Corbières with its Etangs, borders the the Mediterranean Sea and is called the Corbières maritimes. It has its own distinctive climate and characteristic vegetation known as thermomediterranean vegetation...

Vin de Pays means 'country wine' to the French, but to outsiders it can mean New World with a French accent. These are the wines which the French authorities unreservedly allow to be labelled with the grape variety from which they were made. It is difficult to over-estimate the importance of this large and growing category of wines for the future of the French wine trade. The French themselves may have tended to see any Vin de Pays as distinctly inferior to any appellation contrôlée wine, whereas many of their customers abroad see the better Vins de Pays as good-value, user-friendly, sometimes high-quality non-conformist emissaries from the world's most revered wine producer....
