Cap-d'Agde Naturist Village

Cap-d'Agde Naturist Village

Pézenas sits on the plains between the Haut (“Upper”) Languedoc National Park and the Mediterranean coastline. It is a mere twenty minutes from the clean sandy beaches of the Herault, half an hour from the beautiful rugged hill country inland and half an hour from what is surely one of the world’s most attractive cities – Montpellier. Pézenas has the feel of a small town with plenty of charm. Take a walk around the back streets and you will wander through medieval alleyways and squares bordered by tall elegant individualised houses replete with charm. There is a beautifully preserved Jewish ghetto settlement dating back to the middle ages, and the town is famed for being the dwelling place of French writer Moliere. Today there are still a number of writers who live locally...

Narbonne, France is a charming small city in the Languedoc, featuring wonderful historic attractions as well as a relaxing beach along the Mediterranean. The heart of Narbonne, once a key port for the Roman Empire, is the dramatic Place de l'Hotel de Ville. Also be sure to stroll through the village’s old town, where you can’t miss the main attraction: Cathedrale Saint-Just. The most dominant building in this neighborhood, the 13th century church connects to the Palais des Archevêques, which has an ornately carved 130-meter keep. The Horreum, the only significant ancient Roman relic in the city, is an intricate underground series of hallways and tunnels which is believed to have been used for grain storage. Open year-round, it closes Mondays from October through May. Also of interest is the Musee de Telephone, with exhibits on the history of communications, including telegraphs and, of course, the telephone. Be sure to visit Narbonne Plage (beach), which you can reach from the train station and several points in central Narbonne through the 'TUN' bus line. The beach area features boutiques and outdoor cafés...

Musée des dinosaures et de la Préhistoire de Mèze

The largest Museum-Park in Europe devoted to dinosaurs in the middle of an outstanding paleontological site. An extraordinary voyage in time. The remains of an extremely large dinosaur of the Iguanodon family have been discovered here. It could be a new species! July 2004 : New Museum-Park "Origins and Evolution of man" In 1996, an outstanding paleontological site consisting of numerous dinosaur eggs and fossilised bones was discovered in Mèze (Hérault County), 20 miles from Montpellier in Languedoc-Roussillon, in the south of France To protect this remarkable heritage, an open-air museum was founded in the heart of the site. Extensive paleontological digs and research are continuing in the area. The originality of this approach is to offer both a cultural centre and a teaching structure at the same time, thus taking due account of the interests of researchers and the general public. The Mèze Museum-Park tells the story of dinosaurs from their origin to their extinction, explaining all we have learnt about them from their discovery to the most recent scientific research. Mourèze is in the Herault department of Languedoc-Roussillon, in the Massif Central 10 km west of Clermont-l'Herault and north of Pezenas. The Lac de Salagou, a few kilometres north of the Cirque de Moureze, is a popular lesisure lake for sunbathing, swimming and various water based activities...
