Campsite Le Martinet Rouge - Brousses-et-Villaret

We are in the heart of the Toulouse-Montpellier-Barcelona triangle, at the crossroads of two major thoroughfares dating back to ancient times. From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, from the Cevennes to the Pyrenees (source of the Aude), Carcassonne flourishes on the plains of the lower valley and invites you on a thousand twists and turns: the historic gourmet wine circuit; medieval castles; walks to discover local flora and fauna; La Bastide Saint-Louis and the medieval city of Carcassonne itself - there are many monuments to discover.

For nature lovers there are numerous species of plants and birds to discover and lots of hiking trails, which criss-cross the countryside and open plain with breathtaking scenery. Lots of sports, cultural and musical activities are available during the summer. The campsite is set in natural, tranquil surroundings with large granite rocks from another era.

The swimming pool is built around boulders and is surrounded by palm trees and flowers. There is a water slide, large sun terraces for parents to relax, a jaccuzzi and a paddling area for the little ones...

Cabardès

A.O.C. Cabardès

The Cabardès region is situated to the west of Languedoc and to the south of the central massif, a geologist's dream, balanced between east and west, the sun and the coolness, the heathland and the mountain. It is here that the winds cross. They bring the intense mediterranean heat necessary for southern "cépages" (grape types) such as syrah and grenache, and the cool atlantic humidity for the ocean "cépages": merlot, cabernet-sauvignon, cabernet-franc, cot and fer-servadou, to prosper. The vineyards and wines of Cabardès have been recognized as AOC since february 1999. The quality of the grapes, the wine-making, the blending of the "cépages" and the keeping of the wines has allowed us to obtain the best balance between fruit and structure, fullness and complexity, intensity and elegance. Cabardès assembles 30 châteaux and domaines over 500 productive hectares spread amongst 18 villages. 20000 hectolitres are produced each year,of which 60% are exported....

Vin de Pays d’Oc,
Vin de Pays de l’Aude

Vin de Pays d’Oc, Vin de Pays de l’Aude

Vin de Pays means 'country wine' to the French, but to outsiders it can mean New World with a French accent. These are the wines which the French authorities unreservedly allow to be labelled with the grape variety from which they were made. It is difficult to over-estimate the importance of this large and growing category of wines for the future of the French wine trade. The French themselves may have tended to see any Vin de Pays as distinctly inferior to any appellation contrôlée wine, whereas many of their customers abroad see the better Vins de Pays as good-value, user-friendly, sometimes high-quality non-conformist emissaries from the world's most revered wine producer....

La Table du Rebombier offers meals which vary with the seasons, especially its cuisine and its grills fire place. In season, enjoy game and wild mushrooms. Club 620

Club 620 - Fontiers-Cabardès

A small village bar-restaurant where you eat well, without fuss. Traditional dishes and a varied menu. Yvan Marié, the owner, likes to work stews. Diners are treated to a good stew, a Burgundian, a coq au vin or a good onion soup in the winter, grilled over a wood fire as the breast and large salad as 620 with the gizzards, sliced foie gras and pork summer, all in a festive atmosphere. All year held musical evenings. Saturdays in winter and twice a week in summer, music lovers and players of cards or billiards seasoned mix musicians, sometimes known names of French and international scene. All this small world alongside in the right mood at the counter or on the terrace, shaded groves. Sires sad, so go your way....

Hôtel Restaurant de Cuxac-Cabardès

Café Hôtel Restaurant de la Montagne Noir - Cuxac-Cabardes

The old village of Cuxac-Cabardes is a backwater of solid stone houses in the Black Mountains north of Carcassone. It is quaint, but it lacks the picturesqueness of five-star villages like St. Paul de Vence or Eze near Nice. It also lacks the crush of tourists and flashy entrepreneurs flogging tacky knick-knacks that go hand in hand with such stardom. Hôtel Restaurant de Cuxac-Cabardès in the center of this village, an excellent bar-hotel-restaurant where you are guaranteed a friendly welcome from proprietor, Hélène, and delicious home-cooking at a very reasonable price....

Auberge du
Diable au Thym

Auberge du Diable au Thym - Lastours

Restaurant Le Puits du Trésor and Auberge du Diable au Thym are created by a young and promising Chef, Jean Marc Boyer. He took this rather risky bet in 2002: open a gourmet restaurant in a somewhat isolated place. And he turned it into a success! When you taste the cuisine here now, see the place that is modern and traditional all in one go you clearly see it. The cuisine is refined, delicated, generous, a cuisine that has gourmets from around here and elsewhere coming in great numbers. This is a promising address that has more than one trick in store for you! A well of flavours and scents that we encourage you to discover close to Lastours. Modern and pleasant with a very large terrace overlooking the river and overhanging the 4 Cathar castles. The compositions are often renewed to surprise you and charm you several times....

Les Anges au Plafond (literally: the Angels on the Ceiling... when you visit us, you'll see why) offers both a Restaurant / Tea Room and a Bed & Breakfast in a charming 19th century house in the heart of Montolieu, Village du Livre (Booktown). We are recommended by the Guide du Routard 2007/08 and by the Petit Fûté. Montolieu is located in the South of France, in the 'Aude', 17 km North-West of Carcassonne, 1 hour East of Toulouse, 1 hour West of the Mediterannean sea.....

Restaurant
Le Marque Page

Restaurant Le Marque Page - Montolieu

La Marque Page, meaning ‘The Bookmark’, is a charming family run restaurant in the heart of Montolieu, le village du livre. It is typical of many such restaurants in villages across France, looking unremarkable and unexciting until you sample what it has to offer. Situated in a small square opposite the church, the best tables for lunch are outside under the shade of the plane trees, but the interior is also airy and welcoming. Service is as it should be, neither too fast nor too slow, and with just the right amount of attention. Remarkably, for France, customers without a reservation were welcomed at 2.00pm without fuss, which makes this restaurant even more exceptional than most....
