Château Rouquette-sur-Mer - Narbonne-Plage

A.O.P. La Clape The vineyard of Château Rouquette sur Mer is located in an amphitheater on the cliffs of the "Massif de la Clape", the former island on the coast of Languedoc during the Roman period. The family estate for four generations, is now passionately led by Jacques Boscary, who inherited the estate of his grandfather Henry Lapierre - he maintains the management and development of the area with his wife Dominique and his sons François and Arnaud. Château Rouquette sur mer (it is that close to the sea) is owned and run by Jacques Boscary, his wife Dominique and sons François and Arnaud; and has now fairly effortlessly earned a place among my favourite wine estates in/on the happening Languedoc subzone of La Clape (click on the red highlighted link at the bottom of this post for more info/views and recommended wines/wineries, or cruise the 'A to Z' on the right). The Boscary's breathtakingly untamed wine-lands come to about 50 hectares (120 acres) of vines (plus a lot more of trees, bushes, shrubs, wild flowers etc.) lying in a rather lovely spot near Narbonne-Plage...

Sentier Le Massif de la Clape - Narbonne

It's typical landscape consists of a succession of rocky plateaus separated by narrow ravines, where low scrubland dominates. Facing the sea, vast pine forests consist mainly of Aleppo pine trees have taken root. Featuring a remarkable fauna and flora, massive houses knapweed "corymbosa" commonly called "knapweed Clape", which is an endemic plant. Northwest oaks and downy oaks mingle with pine nuts and pine vegetation still testify today that covered 3000 BC. We will be on the Massif de la Clape. It borrows from the slopes and trails. They are mounted but they are not steep if not we will walk in places on rocky trails. The sticks also are recommended. Small loop around the Pech Redon but it is only a variant which allows to discover the joys of "bartassage" for those who do not know. Then the tour continues quietly with a beautiful view if the sun is to the game. It leads us to the Vigie-round fire monitoring. After borrowing a path of vineyards and made a little road, the meal period may be close to the viewpoint which offers a beautiful view of Narbonne and its Cathedral .. A little further away, downhill near pines before finding the paths that will allow us to see the Virgin of Cruques and end up on the shelf in the scrubland of Clape where one could see, on February 27, a wild iris multitude of all colors. This is a very beautiful hike by the in the specified direction because we have a beautiful view through the circuit and it also can not cross private property Happy trails...
