Specialities
Lagrasse is famed for its Abbey, Medieval houses and streets, book and pottery fairs over the Summer months, and a lovely 12th century hump backed bridge.
It is good place to explore anytime of the year and has a number of good restaurants.
Art from all over France is included in the stunning Sentier Sculpturel in Mayronnes, Corbieres.
Mayronne(s) is a hamlet in the Corbieres hills, near Lagrasse. It hosts a stunning free sculpture trail 5km (two hours 30 minutes) long.
There are permanent sculptures and an annual exhibition April – September. Sculptures are amusing, puzzling and breathtaking.
The walk would be stunning even without the sculptures and it is a magical experience. Very few people know it’s there.

For those not tempted to bathe, watching the wildlife is equally enjoyable.
The river Orbieu tumbles from the geological chaos of the central Corbieres, gradually warming up as it runs over sun-baked rocks, until it winds through the vine-covered hills of Lagrasse and Ribaute....
