Domaine des 2 Anes

Domaine des 2 Anes - Peyriac-de-Mer

A.O.P. CorbièresDomaine des 2 Anes consists of 20 hectaires of vines, in amongst a holding of 60 hectares, surrounded by garrigues ( Mediterranean scrub) and pines. Situated in the maritime plain of the Corbieres, between the Mediterranean and the lower hills, our vineyards of Grenache, red and white, Carignan, Mourverdre and Shiraz, stretch down towards the salt lagoons of Bages. Why the 2 Donkeys? We have a soft spot for these adorable animals. They are a bit like us two, stubborn and doing their own thing off the beaten track. Following our own convictions, we have taken a step back from the main stream, and have thus avoided the crisis of conventional wine making in the region. Why Organic Farming? We love life and our surroundings too much to poison them. It gives us great pleasure to work in this way and that pleasure can be found in the bottle!...

Château de l'Ille

Château de l'Ille - Peyriac-de-Mer

A.O.P. CorbièresIts exposure facing the sea allows the vineyard of Château de L'Ille to enjoy a microclimate favorable to the good maturation of the grapes that are harvested at full maturity and, for the most part, manually. Located on the site of an old Roman villa, the Château de l'Ille stretches out to the foothills of Peyriac de Mer, a small fishing village in Languedoc-Roussillon south of Narbonne. On a Mediterranean peninsula, wild and protected, overwelmed by garrigues, ponds and vines, the terroir produces wines of great wealth around a site without equal in the Corbières appellation. The Château de l'Ille winery has a modern winery that allows temperature control: the wines benefit from thermovinification for whites and rosés and, for the red wines, from traditional vinification with carbonic maceration for the noble grape varieties. An underground barrel cellar dug into the rock, houses 120 barrels, 35% of new barrels in French oak and American oak...

Narbonne

Narbonne

Narbonne, France is a charming small city in the Languedoc, featuring wonderful historic attractions as well as a relaxing beach along the Mediterranean. The heart of Narbonne, once a key port for the Roman Empire, is the dramatic Place de l'Hotel de Ville. Also be sure to stroll through the village’s old town, where you can’t miss the main attraction: Cathedrale Saint-Just. The most dominant building in this neighborhood, the 13th century church connects to the Palais des Archevêques, which has an ornately carved 130-meter keep. The Horreum, the only significant ancient Roman relic in the city, is an intricate underground series of hallways and tunnels which is believed to have been used for grain storage. Open year-round, it closes Mondays from October through May. Also of interest is the Musee de Telephone, with exhibits on the history of communications, including telegraphs and, of course, the telephone. Be sure to visit Narbonne Plage (beach), which you can reach from the train station and several points in central Narbonne through the 'TUN' bus line. The beach area features boutiques and outdoor cafés...

La Chapelle Notre Dame des Oubiels

Notre Dame des Oubiels is first a majestic ruin, historical monument of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, situated between vineyards and olive trees. It is accessed through the village to walk out, to spend pleasant moments there amid the 'Garrigue' with the view of Portel-des-Corbières. The ruins of this old church, Notre Dame des Oubiels (lambs), are located a kilometer west of the village, built near the défilé de la Reïnadouïre (la Reine des eaux), crossed by the river Berre...
