The Auberge du Vigneron is located right at the top of the Hautes Corbières close to the castles of Quéribus and Peyrepertuse in Cucugnan, famous for its priest.

To take advantage of a panoramic view, discover the terrace of the Auberge du Vigneron which overhangs the castle of Peryrepertuse and the vineyard.

|
Vin de Pays means 'country wine' to the French, but to outsiders it can mean New World with a French accent. These are the wines which the French authorities unreservedly allow to be labelled with the grape variety from which they were made. It is difficult to over-estimate the importance of this large and growing category of wines for the future of the French wine trade. The French themselves may have tended to see any Vin de Pays as distinctly inferior to any appellation contrôlée wine, whereas many of their customers abroad see the better Vins de Pays as good-value, user-friendly, sometimes high-quality non-conformist emissaries from the world's most revered wine producer....

The Omer Mill overlooks the village of Cucugnan. It was restored in 2003 and began production in 2006. The flour it produces is used to make bread, biscuits and brioches on site. An oven adjoining the mill was built for the purpose. It is wood-fired, made of clay, and weighs more than 30 tonnes. A reception room for groups of adults and schoolchildren has been set up so that educational workshops can be organised. Downstream Padern, the cash is Verdouble again to cross a link of limestone from the mountain of Tauch, thus creating a site with magnificent gorges. Clinging to a rock, the castle ruins above the village. This castle is monitoring the Verdouble valleys and Torgan. In 899, King Charles the Simple Padern gives to the Abbey of Lagrasse. The medieval castle, there is nothing left. Yet Padern housed Occitan knights in rebellion to the King of France. Thus, Chabert and William Barbaira Peyrepertuse found refuge when they fled. The building was an element of protection and surveillance over the mesh in this terrotoire border. The current building is a building of the seventeenth century made by the lord Peter de Vic making the acquisition at this time. Access is easy by a small path that winds to the south...

The site of Tautavel Cave (also called Caune de l'Arago) is an ancient karst cave in the Tautavel valley of France with over 35 feet of deposits containing over 40 very old stratified occupations, dated between 450,000 and 100,000 years before the present. Stone tools and faunal remains have been found in abundance. The oldest layers include several bone and bone fragments of several individuals of the so-called Tautavel Man, called Homo erectus tautavelensis. Archaeologist Henry de Lumley of the Institut de Paléontologie Humaine has been excavating the cave since 1964 and continues research today....

3 miles north of Saint Paul, the awe-inspired site of the Gorges of Galamus is an imposing, protected place. It probably was the first inhabited place in Saint Paul: our ancestors found shelter in the limestone caves that can be seen in the giddy cliffs . The river Agly rushes down a deep break, much to the pleasure of the adepts of canyoning and rafting. Typical mediterranean plants grow on its steep slopes, such as evergreen oaks, jumper trees while Bonneli eagles soar over the winding narrow road that clings to the cliff. To the South, the impressive Gorges de la Fou, cut through the mountain - the exact replica of galamus - opens to the South and the gallo-Roman bridge....
