It's typical landscape consists of a succession of rocky plateaus separated by narrow ravines, where low scrubland dominates. Facing the sea, vast pine forests consist mainly of Aleppo pine trees have taken root. Featuring a remarkable fauna and flora, massive houses knapweed "corymbosa" commonly called "knapweed Clape", which is an endemic plant. Northwest oaks and downy oaks mingle with pine nuts and pine vegetation still testify today that covered 3000 BC. We will be on the Massif de la Clape. It borrows from the slopes and trails. They are mounted but they are not steep if not we will walk in places on rocky trails. The sticks also are recommended. Small loop around the Pech Redon but it is only a variant which allows to discover the joys of "bartassage" for those who do not know. Then the tour continues quietly with a beautiful view if the sun is to the game. It leads us to the Vigie-round fire monitoring. After borrowing a path of vineyards and made a little road, the meal period may be close to the viewpoint which offers a beautiful view of Narbonne and its Cathedral .. A little further away, downhill near pines before finding the paths that will allow us to see the Virgin of Cruques and end up on the shelf in the scrubland of Clape where one could see, on February 27, a wild iris multitude of all colors. This is a very beautiful hike by the in the specified direction because we have a beautiful view through the circuit and it also can not cross private property Happy trails...

Loop circuit in the massive Clape.
The tour starts at the sea (beach 200 m) and continues with the crossing of the pine forest of the Garrigue before attacking the 2 km ascent in the pine forest of Abatuts. The last 300 meters are a little steep.

On reaching the plateau Sale flour, it will increase its faithful steed two wheels (track on the left) to climb the last steep slope over a hundred meters. We will stop at the Vigie lookout tower to admire a panoramic view of 360 °. The sea and pine forests to the east, Gruissan southwest, the Safe Pech Redon (highest point of the massif of Clape) northwest.

In the descent to the parking lot of the Chapel of Auzils (beautiful votive offerings in honor of sailors lost at sea, painted in trompe-l'oeil, adorn the walls of the chapel), we will benefit again the Mediterranean landscape. Attention after the plateau of Notre Dame, the slope is a little stronger and very stony.

The crossing of the pine forest following is a mix of paths covered with pine and very playful singles needles appearance before the Marrou hole (not a hole in my front wheel by the way).

A tintaine, the track goes up on the left and then again through the pine forest of the Garrigue before joining the starting point.
