Restaurant Lou Castel - Narbonne
You will love this address with the country atmosphere, the new decoration of the room and the interior patio brings clarity. Upon your arrival you will be captivated by the smell of grilled meat and fish cooked by Stéphane in the large fireplace...
  Specialities

The cuisine is traditional and the portions are generous. The house specialties are meat cooked over a wood fire, grilled pigeon, veal chop, lamb mouse skewers and les brochettes de coeurs de rumsteck ... The foie gras and cassoulet home are unanimously and the fish and shellfish like knives, cuttlefish, prawns a la plancha are delicious...
Different dishes are offered, the fries are homemade, we love it! The service is fast and friendly despite the crowds.

The covered interior terrace (heated in winter) is an alternative to indoor ambient heat in the summer and is popular with smokers. Novelty, Stéphane Barbera had the excellent idea to create within the confines of a fast food restaurant space "Pasta box". The concept: to each his pasta sauce each, all homemade to eat in or take away, a formula that is all the rage among teenagers.

Nos specialties:
Côte de bœuf, côtes d'agneau, boudin, entrecôte, patisseries artisanales, magret de canard, seiches persillées, pigeon, lapin grillé aïoli, tartare de bœuf...

Corbières

A.O.C. Corbières

The Corbières is one of the wildest areas of France with one of the lowest population densities. It is picturesque with wine growing areas alternating with garigue and mountainous countryside. It is located mainly in the Aude département and partly in the Pyrénées-Orientales département. The River Aude borders the Corbières to the west and north. To the south is the River Agly and to the east the the Mediterranean Sea. The name Corbières comes from "cor" a pre-Celtic word meaning "rock" and "berre" from the River Berre which runs through Durban. The eastern part of the Corbières with its Etangs, borders the the Mediterranean Sea and is called the Corbières maritimes. It has its own distinctive climate and characteristic vegetation known as thermomediterranean vegetation...

La Clape

La Clape

The La Clape AOC is located where the Coteaux du Languedoc and Corbières appellations overlap and is well known for its vineyards that lie on a limestone outcropping that extends across the entire region. The region produces red, rose and white wines that are fully representative of the region and the reds show particularly well, often times considered a vin de garde. The majority of the wines of Gruissan are produced on the Clape. This little mountain, situated between Narbonne and Gruissan was an isle at the time of prehistoric man. The Clape, gets its name from the Occitan word « Clapas » meaning a pile of stones, and reaches a height of 214 m. The pine trees cover the slopes of the Clape. The garrigue covers the plateaux and the thyme, the rosemary and the lavender that invite you to promenade are what give the wines their character...

Horreum Romain

Horreum Romain - Narbonne

The Horreum is the only building dating from classical times that can still be seen in Narbonne. It is a former underground warehouse and dates from the end of the first century BC and was probably the below-ground section of a market. Two of its galleries can be visited and the sound and light show that has been installed creates an atmosphere rather like that of a market-day. Stone remains have been put on display in the alcoves that open off the north wing to remind visitors of the splendours of Narbo Martius, the capital of the Narbonne region. You can buy a Pass Ticket, which is valid for 15 days and gives you entry to all the monuments and museums....

Musée d'Art
et d'Histoire

Musée d'Art et d'Histoire - Narbonne

It offers a panoramic view of the European schools of painting of the 16th and 19th centuries as well as a major pottery collection. The last two rooms in the museum are given over to a collection of orientalist painting, unique in France and mainly acquired by the town....

Musée Lapidaire

Musée Lapidaire - Narbonne

The collections of the Lapidary Museum are housed in the former church of Notre Dame de Lamourguier, the remains of a 13th-century Benedictine monastery and a fine example of Southern Gothic art. Some 1,300 blocks of stone form one of the largest collections in Europe. Most of them originate from Roman grave monuments which had been re-used as decoration for the town's ramparts (dismantled in the 19th century). A half-hour sound and light show projected onto the walls of the church retraces the history of Narbonne from antiquity to the Renaissance...

Musée Archéologique de Narbonne

Musée Archéologique de Narbonne

The museum has been created in the Palais Vieux (Old Palace, 11th-12th centuries). Its prehistoric collections and relics depict the origins and ancient past of Narbonne and the surrounding area. The collection includes mosaics, statues, coffins, furnishings, a wooden anchor discovered in Narbonne's port, frescoes from the Clos de la Lombarde (a Gallo-Roman villa north of the town), all of which amount to the largest collection in Roman Gaul. On the first floor, the French ceilings dating from the start of the 19th century are not to be missed....
