South Beach
The longest and most natural beach in Torreilles part of which is reserved for naturism.

Between Port Bacares and Canet-en-Roussillon. Access by D81. The beach is between the village and the mouth of Bourdigou.

Just as you come off the roundabout to enter Torielles there is an information board - take a look to orientate yourself. The access road to the beach is the very first right just beyond the roundabout. Follow this as it deteriorates into a dirt track but ends at a fine big car park right at the beach.

Nice beach, just as you come off the roundabout to enter Torielles there is an information board stop and take a look to orientate yourself. The access road to the beach is the very first right just beyond the roundabout follow this as it deteriorates into a dirt track but ends at a fine big car park right at the beach.
The beach is pretty nice big grainy sand some shelter there if it is windy which is often. The beach isn't huge but it has plenty of space and terminates where a river cuts through to the sea.
There are a couple of beach restuarants near the parking but I did not check these out so don't know if they are also naturist or textile. They seperate the textile and naturist beach areas.
I liked this beach and it has a fabulous view inland to the mountain peak of Canigou. It was snow capped when I was there.
This is I would say a popular beach given its proximity to Perpignan city and being wedged in between some pretty busy resort towns.

The three beaches in Torreilles have flown the European blue flag since it was created (1985). This ecolabel is sent to the communes that meet a series of criteria regarding the general environment, the quality and management of the swimming waters, waste management and environmental education. Considerable work is done throughout the year by the town and its different services to maintain this sign that is a synonym of quality for holiday-makers.

Muscats du Languedoc

A.O.C. Muscats du Languedoc

Muscat de Rivesaltes is an appellation for the historic vins doux naturels from a relatively large area of Roussillon, in southern France, covering a total of 99 communes, and the majority of the Pyrenees-Orientales administrative departement. It is the largest single sweet wine appellation in France. Muscat de Rivesaltes wines are made predominantly from Muscat Blanc a Petit Grains and Muscat d'Alexandrie in varying ratios, according to the style desired by the individual producer. Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains is used to bring aromas of exotic and citrus fruits while Muscat d'Alexandrie brings a deeper bouquet of white flowers and ripe stone fruit. Collectively the wines show aromas of peach, lemon, mango and occasionally fresher, herbaceous notes like mint. These aromas all change with ageing, (which take place mostly in the bottle to preserve the fresher aromas) and the wines take on aromas of honey and baked stone fruits...

Vin de Pays d’Oc,
Vin de Pays de l’Aude

Vin de Pays d’Oc, Vin de Pays de l’Aude

Vin de Pays means 'country wine' to the French, but to outsiders it can mean New World with a French accent. These are the wines which the French authorities unreservedly allow to be labelled with the grape variety from which they were made. It is difficult to over-estimate the importance of this large and growing category of wines for the future of the French wine trade. The French themselves may have tended to see any Vin de Pays as distinctly inferior to any appellation contrôlée wine, whereas many of their customers abroad see the better Vins de Pays as good-value, user-friendly, sometimes high-quality non-conformist emissaries from the world's most revered wine producer....

Forteresse
de Salses

Forteresse de Salses - Salses-le-Château

This fortress was built between 1497 and 1504 on the order of Ferdinand the Catholic, King of Aragon, to keep France out of the Roussillon region. It was intended to replace the square castle with 27 metre sides located on a nearby peak. This small fortification was ill adapted to the art of warfare as it had developed at the end of the 15th century when metal ball artillery came into use. Designed by Francisco Ramiro Lopez, the king’s first artilleryman, the fortress of Salses is a masterpiece of military architecture, a notable example of the transition from medieval château (the fortress has a keep and round towers framing long curtains) to modern fortress (it is strictly geometrical with deep foundations). The property of the French State since 1930, the fortress of Salses is managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux, which opens the monument to the public. Some 100,000 people visit the fortress every year....

Musée de Préhistoire de Tautavel

Musée de Préhistoire de Tautavel

The site of Tautavel Cave (also called Caune de l'Arago) is an ancient karst cave in the Tautavel valley of France with over 35 feet of deposits containing over 40 very old stratified occupations, dated between 450,000 and 100,000 years before the present. Stone tools and faunal remains have been found in abundance. The oldest layers include several bone and bone fragments of several individuals of the so-called Tautavel Man, called Homo erectus tautavelensis. Archaeologist Henry de Lumley of the Institut de Paléontologie Humaine has been excavating the cave since 1964 and continues research today....

Musée d’Art Moderne

Musée d’Art Moderne - Collioure

Collioure has always been a source of inspiration for artists. Writers, poets, singers and painters fell under Collioure’s charm. That is also why Picasso, Matisse, Derain, Dufy Chagall, Marquet, and many others set up their easels here and immortalized the small Catalan harbor in their works. With approximately thirty galleries and many artists from the entire world, Collioure still is the ”City of Painters”...

Banyuls-Sur-Mer

Banyuls-Sur-Mer

Banyuls sur Mer shelters at the feet of the Albères hills, where terraced vineyards plunge down to meet the sea. This is also the homeland of the sculptor Maillol. A village, a beach and a port hidden away in a fold of the Pyrenees, that's what you will find at the foot of Cap Béar. Banyuls-sur-Mer is the last stop before Spain and is surrounded by quays that run alongside the Allées Maillol, where artists have set up their studios. Explore the picturesque little stepped side streets and, when evening comes, with the music of the Sardana as a background, you can enjoy a Banyuls, the wonderful aperitif that takes its name from the wine produced here. Old farmhouses, Catalan fishing-boats, vines that tumble down towards the sea, silver-leaved olive trees: this is a place where traditions have been preserved intact, a place where time stands still… So, hoist the flag ad drop the anchor in Banyuls, where the motto is “In mare via tua”! (Your road lies upon the sea). Things to see & do: Cap Rédéris, with its amazing views of sea and mountains - the museum and tomb of Aristide Maillol in the sculptor’s former workshop - aquarium and sea observatory - wine cellars of the famous sweet wine of Banyuls....
