Le Coquelicot - Lacombe

Le Coquelicot (The Poppy) is the name we have given to this delightful holiday house with three bedrooms for up to 6/7 people, located in Lacombe, the department of Aude in South of France. Here you will find peace and privacy! This area of France is still largely unspoiled and has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. The Languedoc region is, however, one of the jewels of France. Its beautiful nature with the Pyrenees in the south, the beaches in the east, the Montagne Noire and the Tarn in the north and the valleys of the Minervois and Aude in the centre and west of the province is merely a background for numerous historic sites and days out.

This area is perfect for day trips to the Cathar Castles and picturesque villages. For trips to the coast, a wildlife park, the medieval citadel of Carcassonne, or one of the famous caves. For strolls along gentle becks, waterfalls or the calm Canal du Midi with its locks. For a day of leisure at one of the mountain lakes or for mountainbiking or horseback trips...
Tourism:

There is something for everyone here and the unique thing is, that it is all within your reach. The sun, the wine, the Occitan hospitality and wonderful cuisine are pleasant extra's.

Come and discover the land where the Knights Templar wanted to settle down and where legend upon legend originated. Climb one of the Cathar Castles for a sublime view, enjoy a sorbet on a sunny terrace in picturesque Minerve or settle in the sand of Narbonne Plage (beach) for a day, where the sand slowly descents into the Mediterranean.

Solve the enigma of the Templars in Rennes-le-Chateau or go for a pleasant walk through the unspoilt natural beauty of the National Park de Haute Languedoc.

It is all possible here, in one holiday!

Cabardès

A.O.C. Cabardès

The Cabardès region is situated to the west of Languedoc and to the south of the central massif, a geologist's dream, balanced between east and west, the sun and the coolness, the heathland and the mountain. It is here that the winds cross. They bring the intense mediterranean heat necessary for southern "cépages" (grape types) such as syrah and grenache, and the cool atlantic humidity for the ocean "cépages": merlot, cabernet-sauvignon, cabernet-franc, cot and fer-servadou, to prosper. The vineyards and wines of Cabardès have been recognized as AOC since february 1999. The quality of the grapes, the wine-making, the blending of the "cépages" and the keeping of the wines has allowed us to obtain the best balance between fruit and structure, fullness and complexity, intensity and elegance. Cabardès assembles 30 châteaux and domaines over 500 productive hectares spread amongst 18 villages. 20000 hectolitres are produced each year,of which 60% are exported....

Vin de Pays d’Oc,
Vin de Pays de l’Aude

Vin de Pays d’Oc,
Vin de Pays de l’Aude

Vin de Pays means 'country wine' to the French, but to outsiders it can mean New World with a French accent. These are the wines which the French authorities unreservedly allow to be labelled with the grape variety from which they were made. It is difficult to over-estimate the importance of this large and growing category of wines for the future of the French wine trade. The French themselves may have tended to see any Vin de Pays as distinctly inferior to any appellation contrôlée wine, whereas many of their customers abroad see the better Vins de Pays as good-value, user-friendly, sometimes high-quality non-conformist emissaries from the world's most revered wine producer....

Restaurant
Le Puits du Trésor

Restaurant Le Puits du Trésor - Lastours

Restaurant Le Puits du Trésor is created by a young and promising Chef, Jean Marc Boyer. He took this rather risky bet in 2002: open a gourmet restaurant in a somewhat isolated place. And he turned it into a success! When you taste the cuisine here now, see the place that is modern and traditional all in one go you clearly see it. The cuisine is refined, delicated, generous, a cuisine that has gourmets from around here and elsewhere coming in great numbers. This is a promising address that has more than one trick in store for you! A well of flavours and scents that we encourage you to discover close to Lastours. With a modern and elegant décor, le Puits du Trésor offers a great moment of gourmet communion. The compositions are often renewed to surprise you and charm you several times....

Café Hôtel Restaurant de la Montagne Noir

Café Hôtel Restaurant de la Montagne Noir - Cuxac-Cabardes

The old village of Cuxac-Cabardes is a backwater of solid stone houses in the Montagne Noir north of Carcassone. It is quaint, but it lacks the picturesqueness of five-star villages like St. Paul de Vence or Eze near Nice. It also lacks the crush of tourists and flashy entrepreneurs flogging tacky knick-knacks that go hand in hand with such stardom. Café Hotel Restaurant de la Montagne Noir is located in the center of this village, an excellent bar-hotel-restaurant where you are guaranteed a friendly welcome from proprietor, Valerie, and delicious home-cooking at a very reasonable price prepared by her husband, Willam....

The Hungry Fox - Cuxac-Cabardès

Our story begins in early 2014 when my partner and I decided to move to France with our young son. I have been visiting Cuxac since I was a child to holiday with my Grandparents so I know the area very well. With the support of my parents, who have run a successful business in the area for 12 years, we decided to purchase and re-open the old restaurant in Cuxac, previously known as Jo-Jo's and La Diligence. Work commenced on the full renovation in March 2015, involving a complete rebuild of the kitchen and rear dining area, including modifications to ensure the property was accessible to all...
