Hôtel et Restaurant Le Sainte Anne - Sigean

A tranquil night's sleep after a long day on the road? A peaceful location away from the noise and crowds to explore the sights and sounds of the Pays Cathare? A welcoming retreat after a hard day's work? Sounds tempting?

Will you give in to the temptation of Le Sainte Anne's elegant dining room and shaded terrace?

Perhaps a torch-lit romantic dinner or refreshing lunch, shaded from the glare of the mediterranean sun?

You can either dine inside the restaurant's newly refurbished elegant dining room or on the shaded terrace, depending on your mood, selecting a heavenly dish from the extensive a la carte menu or one of the set menus.

Cathy, Alexandre and their friendly team will be doing all they can so that your meal at the Saint Anne is simply divine and to tempt you to succumb once again to saintliness!
  Specialities

Owners of Le Sainte Anne, Cathy Dantin and Alexandre Pauly hope that you agree after a visit to their hideaway hotel restaurant in the quiet town of Sigean in Languedoc Roussillon in the South of France.

Discreetly nestled at the foot of a small lane in the old town, the quaint stone-flagged building of Le Sainte Anne promises an ideal retreat from the stresses of everyday life. Often the only sound is the cricket-like buzzing of the cigales in the surrounding vines - astounding as the hotel-restaurant is just minutes from the A9 motorway to Spain and the main route N9 linking Narbonne and Perpignan and the beaches at Port-la-Nouvelle. If you're staying at the hotel for a few days to explore the Pays Cathare or for business reasons, breaking up a long journey or just plan to spend a moment savouring the exquisite cuisine and romantic ambiance of the restaurant, the calming serene ambiance of le Sainte Anne, Sigean will prove to have been a temptation that you will be glad you did succumb to.

The immense golden sands and sunday market at Port la Nouvelle are within easy reach as are the large freshwater etangs that typify the region. Head down to Peyriac and Bages for some sensational walks and bird-watching...

Corbières

A.O.C. Corbières

The Corbières is one of the wildest areas of France with one of the lowest population densities. It is picturesque with wine growing areas alternating with garigue and mountainous countryside. It is located mainly in the Aude département and partly in the Pyrénées-Orientales département. The River Aude borders the Corbières to the west and north. To the south is the River Agly and to the east the the Mediterranean Sea. The name Corbières comes from "cor" a pre-Celtic word meaning "rock" and "berre" from the River Berre which runs through Durban. The eastern part of the Corbières with its Etangs, borders the the Mediterranean Sea and is called the Corbières maritimes. It has its own distinctive climate and characteristic vegetation known as thermomediterranean vegetation...

Fitou

Fitou A.O.C.

The first "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée" wine of Languedoc-Roussillon, is only produced in nine small communal areas: FITOU, Caves, Treilles, Leucate and La Palme, which are all beside the sea, between Narbonne and Perpignan, and Cascastel, Paziols, Tuchan, and Villeneuve in the Corbières-Massif. Documents going back as far as Philip Augustus, Louis XIII and Louis XIV bear witness to the long-standing reputation of Fitou wines.Rabelais particularly appreciated "vin de Palme" which now has the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Fitou" label. he vineyards in Fitou are set out on shaly and argilocalcareous soils with exceptional exposure to the sun. The countryside, whose relief consists in parts of hills and slopes and in others of plateaux, has the advantage of a particularly dry climate and is often swept by a high wind, the "Cers"...
