Auberge du Vigneron - Cucugnan

In a friendly and warm atmosphere, come and discover the charm of our hotel situated at the foothills of the pyrénées.

The Auberge du Vigneron is located right at the top of the Hautes Corbières close to the castles of Quéribus and Peyrepertuse in Cucugnan, famous for its priest.

The Auberge is in a former wine storehouse, and its peaceful, comfortable rooms are a great place to spend a holiday. Out of season the Auberge is closed for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays.

To take advantage of a panoramic view, discover the terrace of the Auberge du Vigneron which overhangs the castle of Peryrepertuse and the vineyard. Attached to the dining room, this flowery terrace benefits from a magnificent frame. Nothing is left to chance, as aromatic herbs decorating the balcony are used for the cooking...

All the dishes are beautifully presented to make your eating experience a visual feast, made with creativity which risk surprising you.

Michelle Fannoy, Chef of the Auberge is a fascinated cook. After studies to the catering school of Chambéry, she opens her own restaurant within the Auberge du Vigneron. An adventure which she shares with her husband since opening the establishment in 1983.

Using quality products and originality, she rethinks regional dishes by adding her personal touch. A creativity which was rewarded in September, 2009, by receiving master-restaurant owner's title..

Corbières

Vin de Pays means 'country wine' to the French, but to outsiders it can mean New World with a French accent. These are the wines which the French authorities unreservedly allow to be labelled with the grape variety from which they were made. It is difficult to over-estimate the importance of this large and growing category of wines for the future of the French wine trade. The French themselves may have tended to see any Vin de Pays as distinctly inferior to any appellation contrôlée wine, whereas many of their customers abroad see the better Vins de Pays as good-value, user-friendly, sometimes high-quality non-conformist emissaries from the world's most revered wine producer....

Les Gorges
de Galamus

Les Gorges de Galamus - Cubières-sur-Cinoble / Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet

3 miles north of Saint Paul, the awe-inspired site of the Gorges of Galamus is an imposing, protected place. It probably was the first inhabited place in Saint Paul: our ancestors found shelter in the limestone caves that can be seen in the giddy cliffs . The river Agly rushes down a deep break, much to the pleasure of the adepts of canyoning and rafting. Typical mediterranean plants grow on its steep slopes, such as evergreen oaks, jumper trees while Bonneli eagles soar over the winding narrow road that clings to the cliff. To the South, the impressive Gorges de la Fou, cut through the mountain - the exact replica of galamus - opens to the South and the gallo-Roman bridge....
